When you check the some of reflective items carefully, you will find there is a line on the surface of these slap warp or badge etc. sometimes it is a very thick one and sometimes it is a very thin line. like the above photo. The left is a 3M one and the right is a Reflexite material.

Reflective vinyl raw material come in different size, like USA material comes in a roll (for example, 3M material is in size of 45.7cmX100meter) while China made material comes in a sheet (45X45cm). But it is the same that Every 23cm on the surface for the raw material, there will be a line. This is not the quality problem. Because the size of the moulding which produce the reflective vinyl is in about 23X23cm. So it will not possible to avoid this line when you produce the items with size more than 23cm.

So almost 99% of the client will accept it. because I think we mainly want to use its safety function instead of its looking.

here is the hot news these days in China, I copied the content from http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2008-10/13/content_10188033.htm

as follows,

Three primary school students slute to a passing car. Primary and middle school students in a county in Guizhou Province stop walking and salute passing vehicles on the highway to show respect to drivers and prevent accidents.

BEIJING, Oct. 13 — Primary and middle school students in a county in Guizhou Province stop walking and salute passing vehicles on the highway to show respect to drivers and prevent accidents.

According to Guizhou Metropolitan News report today, the practice is common in Huangping County of the mountainous province.

One of the newspaper’s reporters saw three primary school students on their way to Songdong School stop walking and produce a solemn Yong Pioneers’ salute as the reporter passed the area in a car on Sunday morning. Ten minutes later, three middle school students also stopped and saluted, the report said.

“We are required to do so when attending school and now it has become a habit,” one of the three middle school students told the newspaper.

The county’s schools started to spread this etiquette in 2004, according to Yang De, deputy director of Huangping’s Education Bureau. He said students often played on highways before and that this had posed a great safety risk to students.

A truck driver surnamed Yang told the newspaper he was deeply moved by the salutes as he often drove through the county. He added that he drove more carefully when he saw kids saluting and that he would give his horn a honk to return the respect.

At the end of 2004, participants in a “Walk the Long March Road Again” for charity that was jointly held by Hong Kong and mainland organizations to raise money for poor students passed a village in the county when it began to rain heavily from the sky. Ten-year-old student Yang Changyin saluted the motorcade, moving all attendants. They interviewed the girl and took pictures with her. When a summary meeting was held in Beijing in December 2005, Yang was invited to attend as a guest, the report said.

“Since teaching our primary school students this, we have seen fewer playing on highways and parents, relatives and teachers don’t worry about their safety anymore,” an official from the local education department told the newspaper.

———————
I do not think this regulation is wise and I think these functionaries are too much stupid.

the reasons are 1, why not use safety vest for the kids on the way to school or home? 2, the persons in the cars maybe stupid person or bad people, do they still need to show respect to them? 3, they should show repect to God or Buddha instead of a car which is made of physical metals and parts.
